Six-Sentence Saturday 10/08/11

Here we are again.

First, an announcement: I've been so busy I just haven't been able to get in my three blog posts a week, so I'm whittling it down to two posts on Wednesday and Saturday.

Now, here we go!

1.) I went to the library today, looked up a couple books I really love, and turned to the back to see who the author credited as their agent, and compiled a list.

2.) I got some lovely critiques back on a PB that I want to sub, so I'm going to be working on that over the weekend.

3.) My next two seasons of Psych came in the mail today... HOOT HOOT! I'm so 'cited!

4.) I just finished a rather remarkably good book called The Lost Conspiracy, by Frances Hardinge, and I utterly LOVED her descriptions.

5.) I just started the first chapter of Maximum Ride... very interesting.

6.) I think I'd like to seriously learn how to do sepia illustrations.

That's all for this week. See youse all on Wednesday! God bless

  1. Yes, get to work on that PB, and start illustrating it.:)

I've read all the Maximum Ride books with the exception of the one that came out in February of this year. They are interesting and fast reads.

  2. Hi Cat,

Good idea for creating an agent list.
Congrats on the positive PB critiques!
My older daughter loves Psych too.
My younger daughter was quite disappointed in the Maximum Ride books. I hope you like them better than she did.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I have been drafting out pics, Kelly, and I'm borrowing/stealing the book on "how to draw manga character" that my sister checked out from the library. Not because I LIKE manga, mind, but because there are some really good tips in creating simpler people.

Ruth, the Agent list was something the Editor at Bonefide Books here in Tahoe recommended. She said, get a bunch of books you love reading, go the back, and see who the author acknowledges as their agent. (You'd be surprised at how many people say just, "My Agent" instead of "My Agent So-and-So". (Note to self: When I get published, acknowledge the agent by his/her FULL NAME! LOL)

  4. Maximum Ride was actually not so bad. I thought she was a boy though, until like the sixth chapter, when one of the other character's starts talking about her. Weird. :)

  5. I had started an agents list but left it because of the editing.. good reminder. Best on your positive feedback.

  6. Editing isn't so bad for me. Revision really is not my preference. I hate it when I discover holes that I have to repair before I can move on. :) Oh well. I guess I have to keep slogging on if I want to get anywhere.

See my comment box? Want to know a secret?

*whispers* It's actually a TARDIS comment box! If you write long enough, you'll see... it's bigger on the inside!

Isn't that cool?

Now that you know that, aren't you going to throw a comment in there? You KNOW you want to. :)
