Completely Random Stuff

I think I over analyze too much. How about you? Do you over analyze?

I'm over analyzing right now, thinking, "Is over analyze spelled as one word (overanalyze... which is, by the way, underlined in red, courtesy of Blogger's spell check, but which is spelled right judging by dictionary.com), spelled with a hyphen (over-analyze) or as two separate words (over analyze)?

**A small pause while several people reading this post go to dictionary.com, murmuring to themselves, "What does over analyze (overanalyze, over-analyze) mean, anyway?" (New Tab. Tappety tappety tap. Enter. Click. Tappety tappety tap. Enter.) "Aha!"**

For instance, I don't know about you, but I think I get hung up on those little tiny details that most people wouldn't notice, but which seem incredibly, glaringly obvious to me. Those silly little things that drive me crazy trying to come up with a reason for WHY such a thing is such a way.

Like magic.

If I have magic users in a book, where did the magic come from? Why can people use it? HOW is it used? What sort of ceremony must be used in conjunction with this phenomenon? And on and on and on.

It makes us cranky, precious, yes, cranky. It makes us become glum and darkly philosophical. It makes us think bitter thoughts like this:

Sometimes life is like those first two or three chapters of a manuscript. Nothing is happening. The scene is being set for the future thrills that will happen (we hope) later on in the novel. You read through those chapter, waiting for the good parts to happen. Most of the time, books take off and lead you into the most fabulous adventure! Hurray! Other times, it is the most depressingly, time-wasting book that goes nowhere, does nothing, and doesn't resolve anything.

Sort of like your life.

It makes us browse YouTube in a depressed kind of way. It leads us to strange blogs that makes us blink and go, What? It makes us listen to videos like this:

And this:

And this:

I think this wee young man is weirder  than I am, which is saying a lot. Seriously, who really spends their time making weird videos in a Gollum voice?!?!?! I mean, really!

The sad thing, these stupid videos are so addicting. I'm listening to Mad World right now, and chuckling like a fool.

But that's all for now. I'm up to chapter 10 in revision, so maybe I'll leave this post feeling like an all around nicer, better, happier person.

Or not. Enjoy your Weeping Angels.

God bless you in the future

  3. Oh, you have magic problems in your books as well. I feel your pain.

I LOVE Nine's smug look!!!!! Ack, I miss him. I have to re-watch some of his now.

I know what you mean about Inception. The rest of my family wasn't crazy about it, but I loved it.

Merlin quotes, yes! I will likely have a huge list of those to go through very soon - and one or two Psych as soon as I can watch the next episodes.

    1. Yes, those darn magic problems! I just read The Thief, by Megan Whalen Turner, I think her name is, so I'm feeling all inspired again. :)

I know. I want to watch Nine's season again, even though the effects are rubbish. Nine is so cute, though, I can forgive anything. :)

I loved Inception! I loved the whole dream within a dream concept, and I did not get confoosled at all. Yay, me! I must have a convoluted mind.

Yay! Can't wait to see the Merlin quotes!

    2. I think I've heard of The Thief but haven't read it yet. I will have to see if my library has it. I like books which inspire.

Agreed about the effects, they remind me of Star Trek almost. But, as you said, Nine makes up for them.

You are watching Merlin as well, aren't you? (I forget who is watching it and who isn't...)

I do not know WHY they keep Psych so much under lock and key. It is enough to make one weep and then die. (winky winky)

The Avengers is one of the best made movies ever, I think. Not only plot wise, but characters and dialogue. I REALLY hope the same man directs the second. (Though I heard a rumor that Robert DOwney Jr. might be leaving after the second movie!!! Which means they might kill Iron Man in it!!! I REALLY hope it is just a rumor to scare fans.)

YES! North is the best Santa EVER!!! (He's just as cool in the books. Have you read them?) And when he used two swords I almost squealed. I loved the idea of him being a warrior, not just some jolly, fat man.
As for the Easter Bunny and Sandman...I think those two were SO well done. Sandy was so cute, while at the same time being the sort one wouldn't want to make angry. And Bunnymund, he's just cool. I'm really excited for Sandy and Jack's book to come out!

    3. If they kill Iron Man, I will cry. Forever.

See my comment box? Want to know a secret?

*whispers* It's actually a TARDIS comment box! If you write long enough, you'll see... it's bigger on the inside!

Isn't that cool?

Now that you know that, aren't you going to throw a comment in there? You KNOW you want to. :)
