A Funny Thing Happened While I Was Writing An Email...

So a cool thing happened to me today.

I was on my email, writing up a quick email, and you know how you get those floating ads at the top of the screen? (Well, maybe you don't. My main email is Juno, and it has those ads on top of the screen, and usually in a sidebar on the right.) So, I'm writing an email, and this Amazon pops up, giving me a list of books I might enjoy, based on my recent searches. LOOK what it offered me!

See that book on the left? Destiny's Son? By Katrina DeLallo? I did this as a job on oDesk, and look at that! Offering me my own Kindle Edition of my own book. How funny and amazing is that?

Anyway, I thought it was funny and amazing.

On to other things. Over the weekend I was able to stay at this luxurious house while the owners were out of town. Me and my sister(s) stayed, taking care of the two cats. We enjoyed the most marvelous Jacuzzi - and  Oh My Goodness! If I ever become rich and famous I am so buying a Jacuzzi!! - and after that we watched THIS movie:

It was BRILLIANT! I happen to love both Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell, and they were amazing in this! I loved the whole way the fighting was filmed, because you got the impression of the violence of those times - I mean, the baddies were Picts, and they were creeeeeeepy!!! Their druids most especially... - but the filming was done so well you never actually saw the violent bits. You just got the idea. The story was such a great story about friendship and adventure, and the two of these boys started off not really fond of each other at all, and became such great friends at the end. Friends, mark you. Nothing more. :) After watching it, my sisters and I were on this "Romans!!" high, and stayed up quite late, feeling quite bold and dashing and needing to sword fight. Or something. The scenery was gorgeous too. Loved it so much!

So far, that's all the really exciting news for my week. How about you? What's going on in your lives?

Cheers! Hurray for the Romans! God bless! :)

  2. I remember the first time I had one of my books pop up on a random website. Startled me to say the least. Now it cracks me up that whenever I go to TVGuide.com I see my books displayed to me.

    1. I think you are old enough to see The Eagle. The violent bits were not as violent as I'd been expecting. I'm quite fond of that movie!

  4. It was the invasion of the Hot Italians. :)

And yes... It was SO COOL to see your book as an advert!

    1. Did you get points taken off for the title? **bats eyes innocently**

Yes. Quite cool. Proud of that clip. Silly me. :)

  5. I'm going to find that movie and watch it. (I am kind of fond of Jamie Bell...not only for playing Tintin but for being a Tintin geek.)

Your blog title made me think of the Avengers TV series from the 60's. Did you get the idea from there?

I watched the whole series in about a week and a half. I was drowning my killing character sorrow in a funny TV show and it backfired on me. This is a common accurance to me.

You're little voice sounds like mine. A kind of, "I know this story so much better then you, they have to die," voice. (Mine is a male voice with a French accent and a handlebar mustache.)

You have a book out?! I am going to have to look into that!

    1. It was a BRILLIANT movie! I loved both "Marcus Flavius Aquila" and "Esca" in it. :)

Actually, the blog title was inspired by a funny clip in one of the Avenger movies. It's called, "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer", and it features Agent Coulson. It was Avengers-inspired, though.

My little voice is more of a persistent, feminine voice, kind of like Fluttershy's in My Little Pony. Sort of quiet, but more nagging than Fluttershy's. LOL

    2. There is an Avengers...clip, titled that? I think they might be bigger geeks then I gave them credit for. The Avengers I was thinking your title was from was the old British TV show from the sixties, about two spies. And one of the episodes was called, "A Funny Thing Happened on The Way To The Station." Now I am wondering if the movie Avengers writers knew of the old TV shows...

Eh, I guess there are worse voices to have. Though a little Fluttershy voice which is always nagging is very likely to get on the nerves after awhile. (and does this mean you watch the My Little Pony cartoons?)

Grimm is a rather good show, or, mostly. There are some things I don't like, Nick living with his girlfriend being the main thing. And it shows a lot of...dead bodies. The first few are a little nasty, after that they didn't show as much. I think they felt bad for the viewers...maybe. But there is a REALLY cool friendship story in the show. The, two people cannot be friends and become best friends, type friendship.
Arrow, I've seen pictures of that. you shall have to let me know how it is, I might have to add it to my list. (I have so many shows I'm watching now I refuse to start more till I finish some. Such as Monk and Merlin.) At least I caught up on Psych.

UG!!! YES!!! Sherlock's cliff hangers are HORRIBLE! The first series was just evil! There is no other word for it. And series two...that was beyond evil, though not too much, because we all know he lived...but POOR WATSON! And not knowing HOW he lived. Yeah, Sherlock wins on the cliff hanger area.

    3. Yes, the clip is like a "special" for the movie, or something. I don't remember WHICH Avengers movie it was on, but here's the youtube clip, if you want to watch it.

*Guilty grin* I have watched My Little Pony. The problem is, most TV shows for kids are LAME. LAME! I don't mind Kipper, and I like the old Angelina Ballerinas that were more faithful to the books, but most new shows I hate. However, the My Little Pony cartoons at least had some funny bits going for them, and I do like Fluttershy. She is a sweetie, and I also like Pinkie Pie, just because she is SO crazy!

  6. That's so cool about your own book popping up! Bet it made you feel... famous! Maybe it will end up with so many sales, you'll get that jacuzzi you want! Glad you had a great time with your sisters. There is nothing better than a fun outting with the siblings.

See my comment box? Want to know a secret?

*whispers* It's actually a TARDIS comment box! If you write long enough, you'll see... it's bigger on the inside!

Isn't that cool?

Now that you know that, aren't you going to throw a comment in there? You KNOW you want to. :)
