I dreamt I stood upon a wave,
A foaming wave upon the sea,
And all the waters of the world
Lay within the waves before me.

Within the waves I saw the gleams
Of rainbow colours shining clear.
The gleam of ocean, sea and stream,
Of river, waterfall and mere.

I dreamt I stood upon a star,
A star of fire, white as snow,
And all the lights of all the stars
About me wrapped their blinding glow.

I gazed and saw the stars alight
With matchless light surpassing thought,
All shining scarlet, gold and white,
And flamed with green, and silver-shot.

I dreamt I saw a beaming Face,
The veiled Face of God our Lord.
His Countenance like lightning flashed
As fair and awful as a sword.

And in His Visage I perceived
All the glory of creation,
And in wonder of His loveliness
I bowed and knelt in adoration

  1. Thank you Katrina for sharing this wonderful dream poem!

  2. I'm glad you liked it, Eve. :)

  3. Cat, I gave you an award on my blog.

  4. Lovely! No wonder Kelly (Hashway) gave you an award!

  5. Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this Cat. This is so lovely. And just what I need at this moment. I'm going right back to read it again.

  6. Love it! I think I've actually read it before. That's one of the pro's of being your sister. I get sneak-peaks!

  7. Kelly, awwwww! You are so sweet! Thanks so much.

Samantha, thanks for coming over and dropping me a comment. You are an angel.

Val, welcome! I'm glad you liked the poem. You can say so much beauty in a poem, can't you?

    Ruth, you are adorable. :)

Anon, is that you, Amanda? Isn't it fun being my sis? Glad you liked it. :)

  8. Loved the contrast on the fire and the snow. Loved the stanza on the sea, too. Lovely poem, Cat!

  9. Thanks, Claudine. I think this poem was the offspring of a dream. I woke up and thought, that would make a great poem. :)

See my comment box? Want to know a secret?

*whispers* It's actually a TARDIS comment box! If you write long enough, you'll see... it's bigger on the inside!

Isn't that cool?

Now that you know that, aren't you going to throw a comment in there? You KNOW you want to. :)
