This is a fabulously fun contest, peeps! Here are the rules:
1.) Go to page 77 of your current MS
2.) Go to line 7
3.) Copy down the next 7 lines - sentences or paragraphs - and post them as they're written
4.) Tag 7 authors
5.) Let them know
Here are my lines from my WIP titled (so far) DRAGON FIRE.
He gave the Brenin Warder the
plaingold ticket he had swiped, and said with a shy grin, “I brought ee Chanter
a jugful o’ ale this morntide. He was thankful, eh?”
“Eh!” the Brenin Warder agreed with a
laugh, and lowered his pike. “Come in and welcome, lad. Enjoy the show, eh?”
“Eh,” Dragon answered, and strutted
in.
As soon as he reached the Square he let out
a gasp despite himself. Here are the authors I'm tagging:
Teresa
Amanda.
Jessie
Debbie

Okay, have fun! If you could, also post just the seventh line on your seventy-seventh page in the comments below. :)
(And just for fun, this is an interesting article.)
Thank you for tagging me! This is such a fun one. I love seeing this glimpse into a story from a random page. Here's the seventh line of page 77...we really got a great one from me: He stretched. Jumped into the water. Haha. Let's just say line 7 on page 77 isn't anything to blog about for me. Too bad it wasn't a few lines earlier or later. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Why was he jumping? Did he see gold glinting in the bottom of a lake? Was there a girl he was trying to impress?
DeleteSee, even the most random sentences can be intriguing! (Out of curiosity, what WAS the sentence a few lines earlier... or later?)
Cat, what's a Brenin Warder? Dragon Fire sounds fun! Thanks for sharing a part of it.
ReplyDeleteA Brenin Warder is a type of knight/soldier in the world of Dragon Fire.
DeleteGlad you liked it. :)
Thanks for tagging me! I'm away from home right now so I can't participate. :(. Maybe when I get back in town & reestablish Internet. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it hard being internet-less? You feel so... disconnected. LOL
DeleteDefinitely, if you can, please try to participate when you get back! I'm eager to see your seven sentences!
Question: what do I do if I don't have a page 77 in my MS yet? I'm only on page 58 so far...Just type till I reack page 77 and then do my thing? LOL
ReplyDeleteOr you can do page 7, and post those next 7 lines starting from line 7. Might be easier. LOL
DeleteWell, here it is!
ReplyDelete"Paul breathed a sigh of relief. He had been afraid there would be more trouble, but it seemed he might get off without that.
As the innkeeper showed him to his room, Paul glanced over at Michael. The boy smiled slightly and nodded his thanks. Paul winked back. He couldn’t help but feel rather pleased with himself."
Yay, Dragon. Looking forward to reading more of this one.
ReplyDeleteKelly, :) You make me smile all the time.
DeleteGreat excerpt Cat!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for tagging me. I'll look forward to joining in the Lucky 7 fun in a week or two.
