Once again, here we are!!
In no particular order:
1.) I went to a conference at South Lake Tahoe's new publishing house, Bonafide Books, and met the editor Kim Wyatt and had a fantastic time!
2.) I was inspired to become an SCBWI member.
3.) Since the conference, I have submitted four short stories, two of which (if accepted) would count as credits for SFWA, the Science Fiction Writers of America.
4.) I found out there's going to be a SCBWI conference in Lake Tahoe sometime in May next year, and I REALLY want to go.
5.) I'm trying to figure out how to become an illustrator (which is a work in progress).
6.) I got the soundtracks for Captain America and Thor, and they are joining my Iron Man soundtrack in my CD rack... Thor is a really good soundtrack, and Captain America is very cool too.
That's all for now, folks. Got to save my revisions for my WIP now and join the family in watching Escapade in Florence. See you later. God bless.
You sound very motivated. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your plans Cat.
ReplyDeleteCat, yay for joining SCBWI! It's a great organization and the conferences are amazing. I attend my regional conference in April. I wish I could attend more. Maybe one day. You want to illustrate--another yay! Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteGoing to a conference sounds great (and so does meeting an editor!)! Someday I hope to go. And let us know how SCBWI membership goes. Interested to hear about it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eve. I'm trying! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Terrie. I need LOTS of luck.
Kelly, I've been meaning to join SCBWI for about a year now, but I've heard conflicting reports on it, so I've been hesitant. After meeting with Kim, I thought I ought I should just go for it.
Oops, I posted the comment before I was ready to!
ReplyDeleteI'm also working on figuring out how to get myself on the Illustrator's track. There's a lady in town who is an illustrator, and she's been really helpful with advice, which is cool.
Katie, the conference is at Harrahs at Stateline, only about ten-fifteen minutes away from where I live. I SO want to go!
Sounds like a wonderful week, Cat! Best of luck with the submissions and the dream of becoming an Illustrator. I think you'll do great. =)
ReplyDeleteSounds like lots of good stuff happening for you right now, Cat. Yay!
ReplyDeleteMy family was watching Thor last night but I was reading and couldn't concentrate on the movie at all. I'll have to give the soundtrack another listen.
